I held off attending Octo this year. I have a solid lead on a pile of uncirculated unknown bus parts. I dove in and bought many of them. Amongst them were these nice pg-sg panels that match my 55 euro's panels for $150. The door panels have early deluxe arm rests on them. Another local claims its a dealer install. Any ideas or solid proof of that?

I have not heard this but I have seen a couple other Buses with arm rests on the driver's door panel.
The last one I remember was a '63 15-Window in AZ.
I can't remember if I have seen passenger side. _________________ How to Post Photos

Unless there is some mount on the door for them to hook onto there is nothing to keep them from tearing out of the cards. I imagine someone just stuck them on there. The cards look awfully nice though! _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

True, the ones I have seen just had the normal arm rest mounting plate on the rear of the panel so too much pressure would probably tear the panel. _________________ How to Post Photos

Thanks for the help guys! These are mounted the same just like the long panel armrests mount. These panels were pulled in the mid 70s from the bus as it was sent to the crusher and these were stored inside since.I plan on letting my passenger know not to lean on the armrests! |

I always catch hell for telling passengers not to touch the vent window latchs, etc. _________________ WANTED:

Photo I found of the '63 I mentioned above
I see there is no door panel so I'm not sure if that is just mounted straight to the door or if a hook was added.
The little indent for the door mechanism is right there so maybe they used that by bending it outward.
Maybe if someone knows who has this Bus now they can answer.
I last saw it behind a used car dealer in S. Scottsdale, AZ. _________________ How to Post Photos

I was looking at my bus and panels. Looks like I just need a little soft green material for patch work to call that aspect finished! Does anyone remember the company in Japan that had the featured ad for soft green panels? |

So there is speculation of a bd Pgsg, and there is one I've seen on the forums. But does this prove that they existed as a production color, or does this prove they used bd bumpers on early 55 buses?

My May 55 euro has the bd front bumper.I have seen July of 55 with those bumpers as well. Not sure when the switch was made. Finding a pg-sg bd would be tghe find of the year! |
