I've been eyeballing that champagne edition (first link) for a while now...

If you happen to get it, PM me!

Absolutely, I saw your thread earlier. Price would have to come down a bit though. What do you think its worth?

Oh it's so far gone that the fact its a champagne edition is hardly a saving grace in my opinion. I love these buses with everything I've got, but I'd look that one over real carefully for rust. And mice. And spiders. And snakes. Shocked lol

It's corroded to shit everywhere, it's dirty as shit everywhere.

Conveniently, no pics of the rockers or the underside, and I spy with my lil eye, some weird flaky business on the driver's side rocker. The bus is hardly worth $600-$800 in my eyes. The rest of their asking price you'd have to spend on a haz-mat suit just to get started on the damn thing.

I picked up a fully OG champagne, numbers matching, rolling, complete but non-running for half of what they're asking.

I'll get off my soapbox and simply say that $2200 is pretty high. Or the seller is pretty high. Laughing

One mans trash is another's gold. This holds true so many times. But its the ones willing to part out the trash that keeps our gold running.

$2200 is definitely way too high. Around here people think their junk is worth a lot. I think I'll jump on it if it hits $800 though. If nothing else, I'll have a parts engine

Notchboy, I agree.

kooper271, if you do wind up buying it, I may be interested in a few small champagne bits.

That would go for $2200 all day long on the jersey shore. Omg are buses expensive here!

I would have loved my project to start with those three vehicles.

I just returned from a vacation in Italy. I only saw two T2s on the road, but I see several single cabs and a couple of double cabs for sale there for less than 10,000 Euros:

Here is a double cab:

http://ww3.autoscout24.it/classified/290482923?asrc=st|as

And here is a single cab without a motor for 1,200 Euro:

http://ww3.autoscout24.it/classified/289882021?asrc=st|as

Here's the full list of T2s from that website: http://goo.gl/GCW1R6

Yes, I'm particularly impressed with the inventory of single and double cabs, which makes sense because the farmers would have room to keep an older vehicle.

I found it amusing that the seller of the 1,200 Euro single cab says "no time wasters" in his add -- sounds just like Craigslist.

These VWoA type tents are not to common. They are built like brick shit houses and last forever. Thicker canvas construction then a Westy tent.

Good price? Tough to say. But its not bad.

Scored a NOS Ate brake master cylinder for $115 shipped on the classifieds. But did I really score??
Can't find any reference to part #'s on Ate parts to check compatibility, thought for sure it was the one I was needing. 74 Westy with servo, two brake switches with 3/ prong switches. Layout of this unit is completely different, anyone know what it goes to??

Not sure what that goes to, but I bought this new ATE MC on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-ATE-Brake-Master-Cylin...SwJQdXDWPL

Fits perfectly, the only difference is that the both brake light switches point straight out instead of one being angled down slightly. It also has a brake line port on the back of it which you can easily plug. Note: it does not come with brake light switches.

Yeah that looks like my original, more or less than the additional port.
Hopefully I can figure out what it is to sell to someone in need, with the correct info to help complete their project. The risk of buying from the classifieds and taking folks word for the truth of the matter.
Thanks man.

SamboSamba22,

Let me know if you save it. I'd love to hear if there is a happy ending. Seems almost too good to be true, but hopefully you or someone else can snag it and give it some TLC.
