recently appraised at $14300.00 |
I emailed the seller and asked for the name of their appraiser. Might be good to have that for my bus. _________________ Learn how your vintage VW works. And why it doesn't!

IF that bus is solid, I could see a 14K appraisal on it easily.... _________________

That bus has been listed for a long time. Price is down from the 12k I first saw it at. |

$250 for "ambulance" fans with switch. I've seen these listed for as much as $500 recently. I bought a set from Derek earlier this year and they're great.

It just so happens I've met/talked to the people who own this bus.. They are, just as you imagined, Absolutely batshit insane.
Some family member who owned the bus and had it in storage died and they are incredibly greedy and trying to milk every last cent out of the estate.
I came across them based on a massive "ESTATE SALE" Sign on my way down to southern ohio. The prices on literally everything were completely absurd and I quite seriously doubt they sold a single item.
They were selling "vintage" "extremely collectable" rotary phones for $350 each, and they wanted over $1000 for a crummy glass standing ashtray.

Great deal with so many parts there! Maybe not a driver though. I'd strip it and squish the rest. |

That's what I'm thinking of doing. The instrument cluster has the mechanical clock in it! Those alone are around $300 in the classifieds section! |

This guy has a very cool wheel for sale with a tire and he also has a nice westy tent listed and he is in Nevada. I figured someone might want to bid on these parts before the auctions end

So, his listings say that the $50 (unusable tire) wide-five spare will fit 71 and 72 buses, and he will not show the tent out of the bag or set it up for photos.
I'm out. Others should do the same.
How do you have any clue that it is a "nice westy tent"?
His shipping estimates are interesting, too. $77 estimate to ship from Nevada to Boston, but it may cost as much as $200 to ship. WTF? _________________ nothing |

Why is that wide 5 rim notched like that? It looks like someone hacked it up. Good deal on tent if it's in good shape. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

The original low miles Continental Tire is cool, I'd contact him if I was local.
I agree the wheel looks a bit weird to me - maybe it's the photos, maybe not.
That sort of throws up some red flags to me though.
If the tire only has 500 miles, the wheel should be perfect too - it's not. _________________ How to Post Photos

There is a black block of wood or something sitting across the open center of the wheel making it look like the wheel has been hacked open on two of the "wings" _________________ nothing |

That guy is local to me, his postings are in the reno criagslist. I want the wheel since ive been looking for a 14" bus wheel locally but he wont seperate them, for obvious reasons. _________________ The United States Constitution

Ah, you're right. I see it now. It looks like it could be something they used to bolt the spare wheel down. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

Very complete 77, But very rusty.
Owner is an absolute moron, He has since edited the ad but had stated that he pulled the bus out of a barn a few months ago, he then goes on to add that the bus "Drove very well at 80mph" and how he has no idea why the engine dropped a valve on the freeway..
But hey, He's come down from $5000 to $2650. Wait a bit and then buy it for $1000 just as spare parts.
Then sell me the decklid and spare tire please. |
