It would be the same parts and procedure as installing them in a 1600 based engine.

an inexpensive EMPI 3300 will fit. it retails for about $65. you can view it at www.empius.com

we have it in stock

bugpack still makes a header and it is $67 for the header only. it is the typical 4 into one header. we don't have it in stock but we can get it

I bought the Bugpack header a few months back for my 40 horse, the flange is the same position as a 1600 header so it bolts right up to my hideaway muffler. Should be nice and quiet after I get it flanged and coated.

Old thread, thought it would be the best to post in as a search pulled no results.

Rebuilding a factory rebuilt case with late 373 square boss heads and NOS Cima 77mm replacement P&Cs.

My question is...

Do I use the 40hp pushrod tubes or can I run regular 1600 tubes?

If I need the 40hp tubes what is the best source??

I've used German and Mexican made 1200 tubes, both seemed about the same in quality. I'm not sure what country the ones you can buy currently are from though. Some links

something else interesting about these pistons and cylinders is that cast into them inside is NPR-DEANO.
I heard that Dean Lowry was responsible for getting NPR into making VW piston and cylinder sets and distributing them in the U.S. but then they screwed him over and sold direct to warehouses. Anyone know what happened for sure?

92mm? Never heard of that one before! I've heard of 82mm for the 1200, but not 92. Cool.
