Exhaust system went to crap on the Fox, so I had to switch the 73 Fastback.

NOT.

A blast to drive. First and second gear aren't too great, but once it hits third it takes off like a raped ape. I can punch it at 65 mph and it will quickly hit 80mph wanting to do more.

Confused It just occurred to me that the quickness of a raped ape is a rather common point of reference. This would imply that ape raping is a familiar activity to most. I always assumed it was outside of social norms.

I guess it's not. Still I don't think I'll try it.

Not as long as some, but I've driven this every day for 8 years. Never left me stranded once... But a few close calls.

Which day lol?
The official DD is a '12 nissan frontier 260hp/280lbft

I prefer the motorcycle:
90 VX800 up till I sold it a few days ago ~60hp. Hoping to pick up a BMW R1200C in the next few days (same approx hp but more tq).

Fair-weather Sunday (or race) cars are a '94 Firebird LT1 6 speed just shy of 300hp and the Bug advertised at 57hp 45 years ago. (yes, I know I'm kind odd autocrossing an F-body and a bone stock bug.)

2014 sunroof Beetle would love to have air cooled daily driver but Ohio salt winters and a 22 mile 3 lane highway rush hour commute full of a-holes in suv's would be a death wish in my 64 love the 1.8 turbo in the 14 is very fun fast enough to get out of others way get decent millage and can stop fast when traffic goes from 80 to stop and go at an instant for no reason what so ever plus only gets maintenance every 10k miles and first 2 are done free at dealer and no vales or points or carb to adjust (but my 64 is still my favorite)

My '90 Syncro Westy w/ SVX engine was pretty much my daily driver during the last decade .. although it's now my "mainland snow chaser".
