I know when I sold my bus to Brian over in the UK he bought a replacement set of Cal Parts due to a couple being damaged. The set he bought had smaller diameter lug holes than the ones I put on the bus. I believe he just had them drilled out to match that of the ones already on the bus. _________________ 1959 Ragtop Beetle - sold

Right on, that's what I've been reading. So strange... But, no worries! Sounds like that will be my tactic too.

So, I picked these up from a little old lady who was cleaning out her deceased husbands garage. She said they were sitting in the rafters, and had been there for at least 20 years.
From what I can tell by the visuals, they look like ET mags, but is there a way to specifically confirm?

Cal Parts andof Crestlines are a one piece aluminum wheel. ET's are a aluminum faced steel wheel. I am not sure about all the knockoffs. |
I found a set of E-T mags locally, look to be in aged but decent shape. Any tips when looking at aluminum faced steel wheels? Any guesses on current values? I can't find any comparable s right now, except cal-parts or restored ETs |

Cal-Parts on '60 Truck. Has 4" beam done for other wheels, needs to be narrowed more with Cal-Parts.

Is a complete set worth $800, $1000, $1200? What would you guys pay for a set of Aluminum faced E-T mags? |

Years ago I bought 6 Calparts wheels. Two of them turned out to be no name brand two piece wheels but had the same overall look. Thats back when early VW mags were pricey. Nowadays its lucky to get $75.00 each for nice Calparts due to the work needed to run such an offset wheel in the front. They make great drag car rear runners. These two polished ones below are for sale for $75 each but have been listed for three months off and on and still no takers. I think they are beautiful wheels , but Im old school like that.

I really liked the wheels I found, but it was hard to pull off the fronts, even with a narrowed beam, so I ended up selling them. |

i've tossed around getting up with you on them since they are in town for me but i've been dropping all my spare money in the 62 f100 unibody. that and finding 2 more and then doing everything to run them on the square(narrowed conversion beam so the front is possible just need to short axle the back and switch to 5x205 all around $$$$$$)... _________________ ITMC
