Thx Rich's 50....The front clip and heater channels need replacing, the 54 donor in pic is in very good shape. Any metal that needs replacing will be with "correct 54" metal only. Starting work on the pan in the a.m. with help from a friend. What's taken so long is finding the right parts. I don't want to use after market repops that require reworking and don't line up properly. The only repops I'm considering are Wolfparts......More pics as work progresses.....

Got the drivers side pan about wrapped up. Replaced with 54 donor pan parts!!! Thx for the help MJM!!! will post before and after pics when both sides are finish.

Since no one makes a "correct" replacement pan half for 55 and early cars, I decided to holdout for correct parts. I found some 54 donor pan parts here on thesamba!!!! With the skills of my friend MJM the pan is taking shape....Thx MJM!!!!!

Started fabrication of battery section pan half. Gonna try to make my own replacement part. I don't know what the end result will be, but I have nothing to lose except time..... More to follow.....HELP MJM!!!! Sad Smile Very Happy

well the "gonna try to make my own" shite did not go as planned, I found this instead....

Got the passengers side finished, the 54 donor pan needed some attention..thx for your help Neil!!! The pan work is nearly completed, minus a few details. All metal replaced with correct 53-55 donor parts. Next step, blast and powder coat.....

Well...made some progress on the pan, thx for the help Niel!!!
Pan replaced with original correct metal. Next step....remove all parts off pan clean-up and get ready for powder coating.
