would this washer be the correct optional one for a '52?
What is the correct spray jet/nozzle for this?
and was there always only a single jet/nozzle used?
thanks

the style that you pictured is the later style.
the earlier style has the connections on the backside of the pump and the pump rod sticks out of the dash and is activated by pushing it in.
the later style has the connections at the front of the pump and the pump is activated by pulling it out.

I have an earlier style with the code AJ (jan '57) and later style which has the code JH (oct '56) I have a couple others which I need to clean up to read the date codes. those dates do not line up with the literature that I have seen. the '52 literature shows the earlier style, and I have a couple pieces of literature from the '60s that show the later style. IN2VWS might have some input on this also, as he has quite a bit of literature that might have reference to these pumps.
I have seen dozens of the later style, but the only earlier style one that I have seen is the one that I pulled out of a '56 beetle. the later pumps are relatively easy to find. unfortunately there is an obvious difference between the two when they are installed into a car. _________________ .

You could get them with push, pull, foot and electric pumps.
as can be seen here in a '54 catalog

I have one of these unit's in a 57 Kombi I was given, where these installed in kombi's originally? seem's like they were in the beetle but cant see and having being installed in busses, mine is complete apart from the front knob is missing, so if anyone has one would be interested.
The bottle to mine was just sitting on the cab floor.
I am going to remove the unit today and cleat up so will post some pics up later. |

NOS washer kit???
I would give you little chance to locate an unused one straight out of the factory wrapper. These were sold to be built into cars, so I assume shelf life for complete units outside of the SWF factory must have been short. _________________ drive it like you just robbed the bank
