Here is a change of plans for everyone. Who is in for a night or two of (C)Vamping at Angel's Nest off 26 toward the coast. This weekend. Great weather, trout slaying etc. It only takes one or two to make it a great time.
WTF say you?? _________________ VW

normally I'd say 'Hell yeah' but I'm going to the Timbers game on Saturday night and have an early baseball game in the morning. Have fun! _________________ 89 Syncro Westy - GW 2.5, now with a double knob job

We're headed for Fort Stevens State Park tomorrow through Sunday. You're quite right, this weather is not to be missed. _________________ Brettn PDX

My schedule cleared out tonight, so I was thinking about popping up for a couple. Who else is thinking about making it?

Mind if I bring a tape measure? I've been eyeballing AEB's at Pick & Pull to replace the ABA/JH hybrid in my '75 Westy, but I'm afraid the gas tank might be in the way... |
Sure have a measure.
The wife and I are coming to the Lab tonight... she owes me a beer. _________________ 86 Syncro 1.8T power!, 76 Westy |

I created a NB blue domed emblem. Ran it for a few months. Flipped back to black when I refinished my grilles. Been sitting in my parts bin for the last couple seasons.
Lemme know if someone wants it. Snaps right into larger emblem grilles. Looks new. Will trade for brew. |

Hey Pdx'ers
Any local folks interested in a brand new viair 300p portable air compressor? I have a brand new one that I got for Xmas and cannot return. I have a propane Colman grill too for that matter now I'm thinking. Shoot me a line if your interested or gimme a jingle, I'll put them on craigslist later.
Cheers

Oi oi oi ... LOTS of gas in the oil of the tin top. That makes may van faster, right?
Can someone explain to Ginger that less broken parts = more $ for upgrades? |

Who is going up to the celebration and when are you leaving. I work until 6 am Saturday morning, so, I am either going to head straight up and nap a few hours, or head up after noon sometime. It would be fun to have a little caravan.
Anyone up for leaving at 0600 AM. Meet up in the Mall 205 Home Depot parking lot? _________________ Happiness=Portland, Oregon in the rearview mirror! |

We have a baseball game scheduled for 4pm in Sandy. If we play, I'll head up after if folks are going to be camping. If we don't play, I'll just head up as soon as know. Hopefully if the weather is crappy, they'll just cancel early.
Who's planning on camping? _________________ 89 Syncro Westy - GW 2.5, now with a double knob job

I was going to head up but have to work Saturday and Sunday. The manager's got a funeral/memorial of her own to attend, her stepfather passed away last week... |

I am still trying to work this out in my head as to what I am going to do. My wife has to go to Seattle on Sunday, but really has no interest in camping Saturday night. Since I will be doing my fatherly duties in her absence, I am trying to decide if I want to drive home after a 12 hour night shift and load my still asleep progeny up for the drive North(remember I will still need a 5-6 hour nap), or if I go alone and meet the wife on her way up North on Sunday morning? Lots of things to work out over the next couple nights. I know we will be doing memorials for Daryl at other events this year and beyond, I really want to be at this one though.
In other sad news, it appears that our friends Bryan and Jen,TheDangerz, who made a cameo appearance at one of our winter westravaganza's at the LL NW Quimby before the parking lot was turned into Condos , may be losing their super sweet 67 Kombi in Costa Rica.

Sending positive vibes to them in hopes of a good outcome:

Maybe its bad karma for our attempting to sell the bus a few months ago. Maybe its because we were dreading this trip- or maybe we sensed all along what was coming…but things began unravelling quickly. We ended up sitting at the aduana for several hours. First one problem then another. Apparently a document didn’t get plugged into the computer appropriately upon our departure… meaning our vehicle permit had expired months ago. You’ve got to be kidding.
Not a problem he explained, you simply have to pay the fees and sign a letter (that he wrote for us in spanish) canceling the permit officially. Then, we simply request a new one and hope they grant it. We fought this because it would leave us without any formal ownership, but they reassured us that as soon as we signed they would setup a new one. We finally caved and signed the doc…only for them to find another problem. When we arrived last week Immigration at the airport gave us only 12 days in costa rica, and he is unable to accept our request for a new permit without a 90day visa.
We have yet to find why this rule exists, but we talked to everyone in the office and nobody would complete the transaction (nor explain why). |

Anyone interested in doing a passport cruise? We have lots of empty boxes in our book and thought it could be fun to hit up a region in a group.
Cheers.
