This was one of my favorite cars and build threads.
I hate to see it go, Thomas, but thanks for taking us along for the ride.
It was a lot of fun. _________________ Scott

Just caught myself up on the thread. I can't believe you sold it! What an awesome car!
Are you kicking yourself yet for getting rid of it? |

Over the past week ive found this thread and read through all 41 pages of it and can i just say you are a genius and this is by far the cleanest swap ive seen, and one of the cleanest bays in general. This gives me the motivation to work on my bug even if it is just going to stay stock. I hope you have another build for us in the future Thomas!!
BTW im 19, a sophomore in college and while my friends spend most of their money on alcohol, clothes, and partying im here reading through forums, saving my money for parts and working on my car during breaks when im home.
P.S. Hope youre ok with me using your quote but thats pretty much what i do too _________________ Ronnie

No. Don't be fooled. I have no clue what's going on in that garage. I just hold things against things and buzz the welder. Sometimes, if they're both made of metal, they stick to each other. But other times, fires are started. Either way is pretty cool.

Awesome thread, sorry you to hear you sold it.
I am building a EJ20t swapped 71 bug and basically going to use this as an instruction manual (hope you don't mind).
I have a couple questions:
1) did you build a motor mount or just let it hang from the transaxle like a aircooled motor?
2) Can you provide more information about using MS? Do you have your original setup files you could share and what specific parts you needed? Any advice on wiring? I am a newb to MS and subarus, but not to tuning EFI. I have used tuner pro with small block fords a lot in the past.
3) any general advice on things you wished you had done differently? |

BUMP from the dead.
I got a couple of really exciting text messages a few weeks ago. I am so happy that my friends watch out for me. Thanks, Pete and Minnie!! I think that Nick and Carlos had some involvement in this as well.
Here's some of the pictures from the ad:
I BOUGHT IT BACK!!
I am beyond excited right now. I thought I might never see this car again! _________________ -Thomas

I BOUGHT IT BACK!!
And I towed it home with my LS swapped 1975 Volvo. Of course, I had to do a celebratory burnout, right? Of course.

Some pictures from when I went and picked it up. I'm still floored that I had a chance to get my car back. I've literally laid awake at night regretting selling this car. It's so great to have it back.
It's home! I still can't quite believe it!

I’m so stoked to see this back. Spent many years riding in this turd and loved every minute of it. I can’t wait to race this turd in my bus and see it lose! 😂 |

That's cool as heck that you were able to get it back!
I love the celebratory burnout with the tow vehicle. #classy LOL! _________________ To err is human, but if the eraser wears out before the pencil does you're a major screw-up. |
