It's amazing to see one in such whooped condition. You could buy them new for $70 back in the '90s.
I chuckle at the camber job you did at the back. It looks like some really fat kid sat on it. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

I'm not sure what they're worth nowadays, but I paid $40 for that one. I haven't seen many here. _________________ Custom doesn't come in a Box! |

I picked this one up a few months ago. It was pretty much toast, but I loved the patina on the body so i bought it anyway.
I straightened out the front, then gave it a coat of clear.
Frame was beyond gone, so I made a new one from offcuts I had.
I narrowed the front, cambered the rear, and put on a set of red 'smoothies' with little tyres up front and taller at back.
As most of it was unusable, i just turned into a stroller/showpiece for my son. Still got to make a handle for the back to push it around.
None of the plastic was on it when I got it, so if anyone has lights and bumpers, or knows where I can get them that would be great! |
I don't care who you are...........That's just bad a$$. |

We just bought a Junior Sportster/Young Masters VW bug children's battery operated ride on car at an estate sale. Do any of you who bought one of these new happen to have the owners manual? If you do, could you scan a copy for us, please? We are planning on restoring ours as a Christmas present for our grand-daughter. |

Thank you, Jeffrey! I did message you my e-mail as I would like the pdf file, if it is not too much trouble. I think it is great that you shared it to the posts here. I'm sure other recent owners will appreciate it.
Also, for people looking for parts: Rich Valentage has most of the pieces. His email is [email protected]
He has been very helpful just answering questions for us, but he has a parts list he will e-mail to you upon request. |

There is a guy on ebay that sells a lot of the stuff. Search around a bit and I'm sure he'll come up. Also I believe there is a place in Taiwan or Vietnam that is repoping these. They may sell individual parts. They are also ebay resellers.

That illustration is ridiculous -- and totally misleading. There's no way a child that age will fit in one of those tiny pedal cars. Maybe a large doll, but not a real kid.
This is why I never cared for these cars -- they're TOO SMALL. A child that will fit is still in the diaper stage. By the time they're old enough to pedal and steer with any coordination, they'll no longer fit!
This is a display piece only, or makes a good stroller if you attach a handle to push it around. But unless your kid is a dwarf, it's useless as a pedal car. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

My overweight offspring notwithstanding, let's see if anyone can cram a kid old enough to count to five into that tinny contraption. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

You have lots of cool stuff. You must be friends with Reinhart.
The pedal car on the left is interesting. I'd like to see more pictures of it. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

I know Reinhard, but we are not "friends".
Here are some more pictures of my pedal car from the left side. It was made out of metal in the 60s. The manufacturer is from Belgium and the name is Torck.

I contacted the manufacturer, because I wanted to know how old the Beetle is, and whether it may even is a photo where you can see how the Beetle originally looked like.
I got the answer that the Beetle is from 1972 and a scan was sent to me from a product catalog.

Seems like the website on your pictures is written wrong. This is what I came up with. http://kaefer-modelle.de/ yours is missing a hyphen. Or I could be wrong. |
