Just got one for my son last week. Apart from a cracked taillight, missing horn button, and surface rust, it's in quite decent condition.

Gave it some polish.

My son loves it.

He also learns the maintenance.

I slammed it (with PHOTOSHOP) in my free time.

Here's two variations of the VW Beetle Junior Sportsters Young Master Electric and Pedal Car.
The Electric version has Foam Rubber Tires and are smaller in circumference than the Pedal Version.
Also, the Front and Rear Running Lights , Light-up when powered, Pedal version does not.
The Pedal Version had a couple of different Tire variations with them being All Plastic and the later model having Rubber Treading on the outside of Plastic Tire.
*The Yellow beetle pictured is a later model from Rocky Mountain Motors.

The Rechargeable Battery for the Electric Version.

The ad says the cars are from the 1950s. I sent a PM telling the seller they're from the 1990s.

From some info and other forums these Junior Sportsters & Young Masters BEETLE were produced from the late '80's around 1988 and last were produced until 1996 -'97.
Making them between 17 & 25 years old.
Produced in Canada or U.K. ?
*NOT CHINA or TAIWAN made.
The thread size hardware that is used on the Earlier Models was NOT METRIC or STANDARD THREAD SIZE but was CANADIAN or ENGLISH THREAD SIZE.
I personally know because I tried to get replacement hardware and had a hard time locating.
The Later Model used Standard Tread Size's and was I able to replace the few missing pieces easily.
Anyone else notice these differences or others?

I found one locally just before last christmas, perfect for my 2 year old. But, as stated above, any child with the coordination to pedal and steer, is probably too big for this car. She just pushes it around with her feet on the ground. Anywho, mine is in great shape, just need the windshield. Anyone?

Hi guys I just bought this pedal car
The story goes it sat in a Toy shop for 20 yrs never used.
Its In Great condition with nothing broken on it & as far as I know It's missing nothing.

I have tried to find another one like this on google but with no luck.
Is this the real deal or was I lied too ?
Is it rare , or just a cheapo

Any info would be great , what yr so on.

horn or VW decal for in the middle of the steering wheel? I don't know what belongs there. I do know that is has VW on it.

It's a pity that there's a great crack in the backside (see picture 3).

Here's mine. Found in a window display in an old bookshop in Singapore about 15 years ago.

Made in Thailand, as evident in the hub caps and they usually use the rear bumper for the front. Full metal body.

Came with a horn button on the steering wheel and battery pack and electronic horn under the hood.

I've been keeping this thread in my favorites for a few years now.
I was looking for one of the Junior Sportsters when my mate's little boy was born (he's my godson).
I managed to find a pretty good one here on UK ebay a couple of years ago with only the front flashers and tail lights missing.
The occasional search on Google recently brought the lights up on ebay offered from a seller in Thailand who had them as buy it now or best offer.

I have just acquired this little gem.

Does anyone know the origins of these? I've googled the hell out of it and found plenty that look similar but nothing quite the same ( all the ones I've seen have a star or other symbol, this one has an actual VW symbol on the bonnet and on the hubcaps). I know it's at least 30 years old but was it official VW or made elsewhere, anyone got some info?
