First off - Welcome to the Samba Forum!

Airshock cons: Stiff ride, they leak, and they aren't really designed for a VW, even though people will sell you a set. Confused

Airshock pros: None I know of...

The real question is, what are you trying to achieve?

Why not adjust/re-index the torsion bars?

Iamboman,

Regarding price + shipping for monroe, I couldn't beat www.RockAuto.com

www.NorthernAutoParts.com had a better base price, 57.19 vs. 62.79, but shipping was WAY too expensive for my location.

I went with MA711 for the font and MA803 for the back of my '72 Ghia coupe; my goal is to carry more weight but keep the stock ride height. I will also be torquing the torsion bars and making my beam adjustable (avis adjusters from www.cip1.com).

Read the referenced thread in an earlier post.

Good luck with your project.
