Um..Rebuilt-ish, I replaced the outside rubber and straighted the kink in the chrome a little bit with some pliers as a added bonus the silicone lube I used really put a shine to the old chrome but if your gonna do it I would say replace the inside and outside rubber at the same time since I only did one eventually im gonna have to take it all apart to do the other.

Who had the seals? I honestly. Didn't know you could replace them lol.

you can just google "vw pop out window rubber" and you will find a few places (jbugs.com,wolfsburgwest.com,westcoastmetric.com,cip1.com)
but I just went to ebay for the ones I have, they where $18 I think.

I received the 2 seals for the fresh air hoses my new 74 Super had been missing and installed them and I got a new plastic bumper end too and installed it. I put the seals with this side facing up into the hoses, is that correct?

Got sick of staring at it in the driveway, so I did some minor stuff to it today. It felt so good to be out working on the car again.

Enjoyed the hell out if it! Fri. a.m. I removed messed up generator, removed gen from a project, swapped in and went on 2 hr test ride on the highway (95 south) to see an army buddy I haven't seen in 30 yrs. Ran awesome. Came home Sat. and the ride was fun as hell ( don't get away much).Drove today for errands around town.

This is my first 'what did you do' post.

My super had rotten door panels but the vinyl looked ok. So I'm reusing it, with new backing. I bought the brown fiberboard at lowe's for $4. The rubber bands on the clothespin, is a trick I picked up from my guitar making days. It adds a lot of clamping power. I used 5-min epoxy. I added a viscuene strip to the edge, which is affixed with spray adhesive, but also has epoxy, near the edge. Maybe they'll fall apart in a week. Who knows. I put thin wood strips (tongue depressors) on the other side so that the clothespins didn't leave little dents all over the edges of my door panel.

I looked at him, patted him on the roof, and told him he's a good car.
