Finally reassembled my 1972 marina blue 1200 European Standard after a partial paint and fresh up, happy now; I think we are both happy now.

Washed and waxed on Saturday. Still needs more, but not too bad for 42 years old. Replaced the hose from the oil breather to the air cleaner today.
Here comes summer on the Jersey Shore.
My 9 year old god daughter calls the car CHECKERS and what ever she says GOES.

Fixed a few lights and drove the car. It was my first test-drive at night in years. Very Happy

While up grading to Sylvania LED stop lights I noticed I had no brake lights. Found I had a bad brake light switch and had been driving with no brake lights : ( Now I have REALLY bright brake lights that work. : )

Im glad I dident spray it on the car I bought it for.....it's been on the bug for about 14 years ..well there isant a lot left but whats there is... to be nice... nasty. but it's clean&nasty. and the poly urathane under it.....chalking like hell ,so.. the patina will be back lator today. Haven't done much to my bug in a while except drive it back and to from work,Decided 2 put a new exhaust on it so I checked around and ordered a stainless header and stainless Muffler from mid America. it's a very nice set up except it wasn't bolt on ready like it should have been for $400. I had to cut the flange off the muffler and rotate it about quarter of an inch and weld it back on because the muffler was hitting the header right out of the box, just figured I would let people know what to expect. very satisfied with it now and it has a great sound.

Rides 100% better. Steering/front end is a lot tighter assuming since the struts I pulled out I could turn upside down and they would fully extend instantly from gravity lol.

Washed my bug as well as gave it an oil change. Also got that old decal off the rear window finally.

What's under the VW emblem on the left of the speaker housing? Is that a sub?
I Like it. And I'm 56yo.
Have a great week.

That would be a dual stage oiled uni air filter. I found a vw emblem in the aftermath of a wreck and have been stenciling a lot..... Like all over the shop a lot.
