I don't know, where to post this, so I decided to put it here into engines/transmissions.

When I bought my split bus 20 years ago the engine on the bus came with a dual generator stand with the original 6v generator and a 12v alternator mounted.
6v was used for the original to the bus stuff, 12v was used for the selfmade camping interiour (made by the PO).
The 12v system was driven by this special pulley.

I've stored this dual pulley decades ago, found it again a few days ago and now i'm curious about it's originally purpose.

I've searched the web and the samba up and down.
I've checked all the 1800+ pictures if you search for "pulley" in the gallery.
I've checked different parts manuals (the thing, industrial ingines ...).
No success.

The part itself is pretty heavy, compared to a original pulley.
The diameter is 165mm
A 9.5mm narrow V-belt does fit like a glove.
The two dowel pins do fit into the original pulley.
One of the dowel pins seems to be pushed back about 5mm to clear the case (probably).
It was mounted to the engine with this hand crank nut, but without any washer under it. Like you see in the picture)
In the M387, the 3 is flipped.
3 balance drillings, appreciated 10mm diameter, different deepness.

From the parts number 113 260 843 A it should be in main group 2 (fuel tank, exhaust system, heater system)
In the type 34 (karman ghia) parts book group 259 is the fresh air control and group 261 is the Eberspächer stationary heater.
Does this make any sense?
Or maybe its 113 250 843 A (and not 260)

"A" means, that there must be a similar part without the "A". Couldn't find this also.

Can anybody of you shed some light on this for me not to find part?
What was it used for? Originall purpose?
Any help would be appreciated.

Matthias

If the pulley is off an industrial engine you won't find the part number in any normal car book.

I would guess that it came off some type of industrial engine. The nut looks like it takes a crank to start the engine. If you ever started a model T you can understand

The AC application makes sense.
But now I'm curious how this does look like mounted in the engine compartment. Something new to search for.

Thanks a bunch guys for your help !!

look for a Judson supercharger setup on a 36hp

they use a very similar double pulley (perhaps a smaller diameter)

I would not think anything aftermarket would have a genuine vw part number and logo on it. I would be more inclined to believe it was used in some type of industrial application.

I found these on the web, maybe even on the Samba, a few years ago:

They were said to be the double generator option for emergency vehicles.
