Nice! Can't make out what's that thing on the rack next to the spare wheel?

This is BCs truck the other split we took on the Magruder trip. This was taken at a nice little fishing hole we stopped at on the Salmon River.

This is a pic of my 67 from a trip we took a few weeks ago. We took as many dirt roads and back ways as we could and went up and did the Magruder coridor in Northern Id. We spent 7 days driving around in our old busses with the wives and kids

For some reason this pic reminds me of the illustrations in Muir's Idiot Guide.
Very cool, very cool indeed. Cool
One question though......doesn't the step reduce ground clearance?

yes the step gets in the way for ground clearance. That road wasn't to gnarly for it though. before the trip I unbolted it and made sure all the hardware was clean and then bolted it back on. That way my 3 year old little girl could climb in and out easily and if we got to a nasty road I could hop out and quickly unbolt it. My first year on the SST I learned not to run a step on those kind of roads and totally destroyed my previous step.

it doesnt look bad in the pic but the road was HAIRY! Going down was easy, some pics at the lake side, and an attempt at airing down the rear tires to help get back out, going up was a PITA!!!

Several stalls and one burnt clutch later...SUCCESS!!

Here is a view of the hill from on top. Doesnt look bad unless you are driving down or trying to go up. Its the switchbacks and deep ruts that will get you every time!!

Back on the road limping with the faded clutch disk I make it to the summit for the second time!
