went for a short sun-down jaunt up behind the house again, this time on the north side of the valley. Its looking like the snow level is high enough to explore the high elevation soon!

Hi there.
This is Sam who just went on the Mojave Road. It was set up by the pony express in circa 1850 to go from Fort Mojave (near Laughlin NV) to Barstow CA. They found the native american water holes every 15 mies or so across the desert and the road has been kept up since the, By kept up, I mean that it is a dirt road that goes through some hairy places. I normally go in my lifter 73 Thing, but broke my crankshaft. I had a choice, move the single cab 1600 DP engine to the Thing or take my single cab. I obviously chose that.
I went with a group of 15 Bajas and buggies that are part of SoCalBajas, and we have a very good mode of running through the dirt. You wait at a turn until the person behind catches up, and we nearly all have CB's.
Here is a little 6 minute video I put together. Going down the hill looked easy from inside!
