A few OTBP pictures of my bus in southeastern Arizona over the last couple months...Mount Pinal, Mount Lemmon, 7 Springs & Mesa.
Fully restored in September of 2012 and 9200-miles later she is acquiring chips, bruises and dust in every nook and cranny because a couple thousand of these miles were on Arizona forest roads.
I've been asked if I've lost any hubcaps yet...apparently you're not driving it hard enough until you've lost a hubcap or two...I'll try harder next time out, I promise
Your bus will take you there...enjoy the adventure!

I've lost a few but only when some hubcap clips were either missing or tweaked so they didn't hold the cap tight. I think I've lost at least 4 of them over the years but found some after searching the side of the road.
They travel further than you would think. _________________ How to Post Photos

This past weekend, me and some VW friends camped in the mountains east of Baker Lake in the North Cascades. Here are some highlights and videos.

A few weeks before, I explored Canyon Creek rd off Mt Baker HWY.

This video is a bit long but fun. The best part is at the end though. Still learning how to edit properly.

This image reminds me of home. Pinal was one of my favorites (note the image and Pinal are not related).

Yes Everett...having strong clips especially having all twenty of them do a great job of holding on your hub caps...now beauty rings are another story...I knew better than to put them on in the first place.
Funny you mention "home" Mike...this picture was taken in the back yard of Jeremiah's place here in Mesa , AZ...that's his scab to the right of my dèluxe next to Jerry Jess's "Bessie" and "Ollie" on the right. _________________ 1979 Type-2 Westfalia “Sandy”

I've been asked many times why do I drive my bus everywhere every day. You have answered their questions for me. I'm glad to see someone driving their bus as it should be driven, even restored. Carry on with pride my friend. |

On my way to the top of the highest road in Brazil, the federal highway(yup, that trail is officially a highway) BR-485 at 8.070ft of altitude.
The view from there was pretty cool.

The Hatch off the beaten path this last week somewhere north of Yosemite (PyrOman's Dormy was along for the ride).

our 1965 Westy will be turning 50 next years and we are planning a trip to Newfoundland. Anyone have a best choice for a clutch disc for off roading? thanks Jim |
