Looks to be a good restorable beetle. No damage or large cancerous rust anywhere..
Can't wait to see it finnished.

Hey thanks for posting the rear luggage area! That tar-board on the luggage firewall was half missing in mine along the top part and on the right side. Now I know how it looks enough to try and have one made!!

Holy Crap! I am so glad that I purchased the Torquemeister.
Castle Nut came off with no problem... but after about 30 min's beating on the Drum to get it off.. it was free. wow!

Moved on the the Passenger side and the cotter pin snapped, this castlenut was a %!%$$ to get off but again the TM came through. another 30 min of beating the crap outta the drum to get it to move off. UGH!

packing the brake parts that I need in a box.

Excuse my mess on my shop floor ( leaves are piling up ) Laughing

I have really dropped the ball on the '70. letting it sit, not having the cash to throw at it after I finished up the '71. with no garage or shed the rust builds up fast. My putting off stuff and sitting will cost me more $ in the long run.

I am glad we get our value out of riding around and getting the thumbs up from people... as I doubt I will ever see the value of the money I am going to drop now. Razz

Got the Pans cut out....
Ordered new ones from WW

trying to keep going on the chassis and save the smaller stuff that I can do inside when the weather turns nasty.

Got the Engine mounted on stand, ready for teardown.

but back at it again under my shadetree!

getting the last part of the pan that was spotwelded off.
Big Hammer, Chisel, and Patience. finally got it off, and grinded the spot welds down.
Hope to finish the passenger side tomorrow.

Yesterday finished chiseling the passenger side floorpan off.

Being the first time for replacing pans, its been a learning experience Confused

stepping back and thinking what the next move is.
