seems legit to me
surfing is 90% talking about surfing, 9% waiting for waves, and 1% actually surfing. he's just trying to get the talking about surfing out of the waves so when he gets out there he can get pitted. so pitted. leave him alone.

If they'd throw in a RW signature and huge monkey decal I'd roll it.
sure it's rust and non running but that's actually a decent price for up here in New ENgland salt belt.

Yeah, just cruise around Des Moines with your buddies, drinking coffee, checking all the spots, never agreeing on where to surf and then about 10:30am the wind picks up so you call it a day and just go for a burrito. All that action for what, $22k? What-a-bargain!

I was recently at one of the wave pools in Des Moines.. no surfboards, but there were a lot of fat people in t-shirts clinging to tubes and trying not to drown..

Not sure if this has been posted before but someone brought this up to me today.

Ad for Westy receptacle for $65 shipped
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1112619

Same part on Amazon for $18?
http://www.amazon.com/Leviton-4937-Weatherproof-Wallplate-Receptacle/dp/B00074USHY

Ignoring the ridiculous markup for the same part, is this even exactly what was used originally in Westys?

Not my completely original, one owner, 1970.

Once again Erb stars in the whine thread, page 1 post 1 and many more since.

That style of plug was used on some early bay westy's, not sure if the brand and finish is exact though.

Here is one you don't see everyday anymore, a kinda rare bird nowadays. Has a type 4 engine with the fuel injection. I need to sell as my plans have changed, serious only please , but will entertain any serious offers, will get you any additional photos you may require, thanks Frank

18 grand...not even a legitimate late single cab! it's got early bay vents grafted on the ass of the the cab! Granted it looks pretty well done, but I'm not thinking it's worth $18,000...

He looked and looked for a $25 part sold at BD and couldn't find one. So I guess $100 is fair. Rolling Eyes

You build street cred by contacting the new owner - telling him you found it then send it to him Rolling Eyes
