For a mere $4,000 more, the seller also has a '67 Nova for sale.
"Nova"... Spanish for "it doesn't go". |

It looks pretty dang good for being almost 50 yo and mostly original. And it will be interesting to see if it gets sold at that price. |

Looks like a pretty damn nice bus, not sure on the price. But I do wonder about the Riviera provenance. Looks to me like a home built bed and cabinets installed into a sunroof bus. Riviera windows are easy to install after the fact.
Also, right after it states that it has been repainted, it says the OG paint is properly aging. I guess the color is original, if not the paint.
As far as the asking price, not too long ago I sold a 68 Westy, nearly all original paint Velvet Green, complete original interior, a few places with rust but they were limited, and I was the third owner. Its 1600 dynamically balanced single port ran like a watch, and could be driven anywhere, anytime, so it was likely a direct comparable to this red Riviera mechanically. It took some time to sell, and it was less than $10K. _________________ nothing |

yeah, it's a nice bus, and sunroof is a plus for some people, but the price seems really high for an early bay that really doesn't seem super special to me. |

No pictures of under the bus? No pictures of the engine or engine compartment? From the pictures, it has a cheap paint job on it. The body looks mostly straight but how much mud is hiding? Aftermarket interior, cracked top dash pad.
I think the price has 1 too many digits. $8900 seems more accurate for as much $ as it would take to inspect and refresh the mechanicals. A decent paint job on it would be north of $6k as well. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

The duct tape residue around the sunroof opening doesn't bode well. This bus is a good start for a restoration but like most sunroof buses it would be worth more now without it. _________________ 1978 Transporter 2.0 FI, BA6

I saw this one for sale parked at the seller's house. I didn't stop to ask how much they wanted because I didn't really want another project. Well three weeks have passed and they still haven't sold it. Then this shows up on CL over the weekend.
https://fayar.craigslist.org/cto/5990193748.html
Now I see why it hasn't sold. $15,000. And they didn't even take the time to give any details. No good pictures, no mileage, etc. I don't think they really want to sell it. Just from what I saw driving by I would say this is a $2000-4000 bus as is. Decent but there was body damage along the driver's side like they scraped against something. Also the paint was super faded and dull. It would take some elbow grease to make it better. _________________ 1974 Riviera - Subaru EJ22

That may be rust on the slider panel. Not residue. But it does work. If this was a Westfalia and original I think the starting price would be ok. _________________

Or someone ripped it off and its a spam ad now.
Either way I hate when people use effects on classified pics. Saw another CL bus somewhere in the country I was looking at and had the same 'through the looking glass' type pics. I find it really distracting, not enhancing your item _________________ Rebuild your own FI Harness..My Harness

i disagree. he thinks that mileage on the speedo is actual mileage since the vehicle was new. another example of this delusion: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=564001 _________________ thebucket: I invested in hoodride, now DBD won't return my call?

Somewhere deep in the back of my mind I am really hoping he is actually the single best troll the samba has ever seen. But, there is a lot of other complete bullshit way back in there, so I am betting he is just exactly as he seems. _________________ nothing |
