Not really a whine. It's a pretty nice custom, but when did we start describing a Bay as to the amount of windows it has?
I guess my SC is a 6 window bus. |
Ha ha, I almost lost count, I was trying to see if he counted the door vent windows, too. If you have a slider, does that count as one or two? I'm so confused. _________________ '03 MV |

I bought some late Bay heater boxes from them and pics were seemingly okay…until I received them and a solidified mix of dirt and oil that looked like metal in the pics was cleaned off to show a rusty mess. I could not get a refund of any sort because I was slow(2 months) to pick them up from my friend in Seattle. Shipping to Canada was seemingly too expensive….but it would have been worth it in the long run if I could have got some of my money back. ……So as usual don't trust pics, no matter how "detailed". In this case I couldn't agree with your statement more! PS It is listed as $8900, not $8K |
I tried to buy several parts from them as they were parting out a late Westy. After being told I'd get photos of the parts, I heard nothing further, until a couple weeks later when I asked what was up, I was told the Westy was no longer available for parts. Yet, last time I checked, it was still being advertised as "parting out". These days I cringe every time I consider responding to an ad for Westy parts, as most of the time it doesn't actually result in buying any parts. Can't figure out what game these jokers are playing. |
What about this from them. Do these look nos or do they look like the used ones replaced by the new ones and put back in the boxes?

Me neither! For NOS I'd like to see something that had emphasis on the "new" not the "old"… _________________

I need to rant I've got a buddy that is selling his 77 asi camper on the full moon bus club I've done a lot work on it but they won't shell out the cash to fix it right it has tons of vacuum leaks and #1 cylinder is dead due to sinking valve seats Hes asking 6k for it and representing it as running with a minor backfire. There front is solid bondo too caveat emptor I guess... _________________ '69 Westfalia Camper~Cassidy

Friends can be doosh bayges as well.
As for the Ad you posted - Whats the bad stuff?
"Ok lets get to the good stuff:
-No title, not needed when it's a 1974 model. I will provide a bill of sale and that's all you need.
-Bus does not run. I haven't tinkered with it but it hasn't ran in many years.(engine is there and intact however)
-No ignition key. I have two door keys but apparently the ignition key has an extra notch in it. For transport purposes you can unbolt the column lock to be able to turn the wheels to load it.
-Back hatch is stuck shut(not the engine compartment, the hatch to access the rear seat etc)
-Popup tent is there but is very dry rotted and torn in a couple spots.
-No sink or stove so don't ask.
-You will be responsible for loading and transporting the bus. There is a slight incline in my driveway so bring a winch or some chains buddy."

Well he shouldn't take offense when you go out there and tell him what the bus is really worth and why. If he bauks - tell him to grow a pair Doesn't sound like his argument will be based in any fact. Or hes just crazy and might shoot you _________________

Good gawd, what a clusterf**k of hacks and bad workmanship, looks like the paint lines were taped by the same one eyed blind guy that sewed the interior. And I think they missed on the model year by about 10 years. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I could see the reasoning behind building that bus/truck/thing as a beater for around the farm and such, but to spend the dough to tart it up to sell as something special? Wow. _________________ nothing |
