I'm the treasurer of my college car club and this past weekend we had a dyno day at my friends dad's partially owned shop, so I brought the VW for sh*ts and giggles. My guess was 37rwhp and I was pretty close. Thought I'd share some of the pictures and results.
The reason why run 1 was cut so short is because the tach signal ground wire started to come loose. I don't know what a stock 1600dp should make but I'm assuming through drive train lose it should be around that. _________________ '67 Beetle (project) http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3289202#3289202

I would figure a 1600DP would be higher than that, I thought the original 1500's were 50hp. _________________ '67 Beetle (Aug '66)

Here's a few updated pics....I'd bad with keeping this thing updated.
A roof rack I found on Craigslist. The kids father passed away, so he wanted to get rid of it.
So I put it on and threw an old gas can and spare tire up there I love this picture
I freshened it up with some almond color paint.
I'm also redoing my entire interior this winter, so I'll document that too.
Old seats.

Thanks! At least you have another car to use, that's the best way to go |
Yeah I was bummed out prety bad when I found all the dammage. It was more than I thought.......so I got another body with no damage just cancer. So the plan is to cut up the original to weld in to the new body. Its the typical spots, heater chanel area of all four wheel wells. Also gonna swaap the rear apron/bumper brackets. Keep up the great work! |

Nice! that's awesome, congrats. The best thing you can do is practice on scrap metal you have, make sure the metal surface is clean before you start though, well you'll learn all that and more in the class when you find one. Good luck with the car! _________________ '67 Beetle (project) http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3289202#3289202

Hey iaccy ,
That 67 looks great! Was it in the Terryville show? I'm wondering if I saw it at any of the shows last year. |

I went to all the CT shows this year, but I only drove it to Terryville and the the mid July CVA show. You're part of the CT Volkswagen Association aren't you? |
Yes I am. If you went to the Quassy show, My wife and I were the ones putting on the 1/64th scale race by the basketball court.
We didn't stay at the Terryville show long, the heat was bothering my son too much. |

Yeah a little. I got my headliner installed last week at a family friends upholstery shop. My friends father hadn't put in a headliner in a beetle in a number of years, so I was kind of worried how it would come out, but it isn't terrible so I can't complain. It has a couple flaws, but hopefully the summer warmth will tighten everything up.
I took the rear window out to make it easier for the guy. It was a rather noisy ride
I'm hoping these wrinkles will work themselves out with the warmer temperatures
That's the other part near the sun visors that look funny. There's kind of a weird fold up there. _________________ '67 Beetle (project) http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3289202#3289202
