I'm having difficulty locating the later bulb style light. I know Wagen Werks sells them but they are out of stock. I can't assume they manufacture these themselves, but my search yields no one else carrying them. They look solid enough in aftermarket form so that is fine by me.
Anyone have a source? _________________ -Tim

That lens looks insanely wrong. |
Agreed. I'm going to ask to see it before buying. I'm grateful they're only 20 mins away. |

They are similar to the more widely available bezels used for reverse and other lights but they are thinner. |
Thanks for clarifying the differences, Everett. I saw there were two part numbers between the two and assumed they were incompatible.
I'm going to chum the water in the classifieds with a WTB ad and see what happens. |

So here's the latest.
I've been told that the red reverse light lens and bezel will work fine. So I'm seriously considering going that route!
But, I've also had a potential seller inquire about the bezel dimensions. Are those saved somewhere on the site? My searches didn't provide the right information. |

I use a reverse light from a early bay on my last bus but there is no license plate light when you go that route
Not correct and most purist will frown on it but it works if you don't have anything else or need something to use while collecting and restoring parts _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

Oh, that's not cool. I interpreted the advice as "run the bay lens on the center brake light housing". From that interpretation, one keeps the license plate light and has a readily available lens and bezel. |

You can use either the whole assembly or just parts of it depending on what you need
My original assembly had the license plate light part broken anyways so i figure it wasn't a big deal to use the whole assembly from the bay
In my area not having a working license plate light isn't going to get you pulled over so it really only matters if you want it to work _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

Anyone have a side to side pic showing the brake light and reverse light bezels? _________________ WANTED:

I'd like to see that, too!
I've been researching this for a few days. I've even found the same red, glass, lens part-number applied to a "center brake light" on one site, that's applied to a "red reverse light" on another site.
I've had a few people recommend using a red reverse light lens and reverse light bezel on a Barndoor brake light housing like splitpartsunlimited sells. The advice was even repeated by one of the more reputable resto parts suppliers.
So I've ordered everything from three different places - because nobody had everything in stock for me to simply order once - and I'll post my findings. Regrettably, I will not have a Barndoor bezel to photograph side by side, but I'll break out the calipers and post dimensions of what arrives. I'll include part numbers, too. Perhaps someone else can post OG Barndoor info and clear picture can be drawn once the data is assembled.
James
PS Be patient. One shipment is coming from Argentina. |

If $230 is too much, you could pay his asking price, that is only $210. |
$210 is his ad price.
$230 is his website price.
$245 is his price shipped to SoCal with PayPal fees, and it's still the best price out there. |
