All the time i read about these in hot vws in so cal. I even went to a few in my high school days. So here's my thought. There is a dairy queen here in ranson west va. Perfect place to hold one. Only problem is getting the word out. Anyone interested? After the meet i have a ton of tools. I could help people work on thier cars and so could other people who come. _________________ My 71 Ghia Been in my family since 1980

Great idea!
I would be there with my Ghia. I'm only about a half hour from Ransom. Good location. Nice little town.
You are thinking about this for the Spring or Summer, right? _________________ Ghia Owner Emeritus |

There are at least a few nice places I am aware of both in VA and WVA. Here are a couple:

http://www.watermelonpark.com/
Sky Meados also has some camping. _________________ Ghia Owner Emeritus |

My thought was this spring but we could do it this winter if there is enough interest. There is a koa camp ground about 10 minutes away. I was also thinking it could be a monthly thing. Maybe even start our own vw club. Charles town races and slots is also less than a mile away for anyone who may be interested. _________________ My 71 Ghia Been in my family since 1980

Ok, so I'm thinking March 14th. Then every 2nd Sat after that until it gets to cold too do it.
There are a couple of local impromptu car shows are here every weekend when the weather is nice. Both on Friday and Saturday nights. The VW presence needs help
http://www.dairyqueen.com/us-en/store-locator/
If you go there and put in your zip code, and the zip of 25438 as your destination, it will tell you exactly how to get there.
Who knows, if we get enough interest maybe we could make a whole weekend out of it. Another thought I had is that there is a Sonic not too far from here. It's in Winchester VA which is about 20 to 25 minutes away. That would be a really neat place to have a VW meet too. Maybe Friday night at Sonic for those who could make it, and Saturday night at DQ? _________________ My 71 Ghia Been in my family since 1980

I am 45 minutes south of Winchester. I think it's a great idea. |

I am in the process of getting my Ghia road-worthy, but if this gets going, I'd gladly join you folks when she's rollin'. I am near Strasburg and work in Winchester. _________________ Mike

Still planning on doing this. Hope to see everyone there. Is there still an interest. How many people are actually planning on being there? I would like to get an accurate count. _________________ My 71 Ghia Been in my family since 1980

I can probably make it, but not in my Ghia, it's not there yet. I'd still like to meet and greet the VW community members around here though. If we do several of these throughout the summer, as you suggested earlier, I will definitely get my Ghia to one or two before summer's over. _________________ Mike
