If you're handy, you can find a cracked version of Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere. _________________ Pit Bull Myths, Busted!

Go to MININOVA and you stand a decent chance of finding something. That's how I get all my illegal copies of super expensive software.

Yeah but he's looking for a more powerful program, more effects, transitions, etc. _________________ Pit Bull Myths, Busted!

wow, timely question - I finally got some old VHS stuff burned onto dvd, but it's just one huge long track. Would Movie Maker work to clean that up? I just want to insert tracks, and delete out the 5 second bits of Matlock between scenes.
Also, dumb question, would I just put the dvd-r that this is on into the drive, and will the computer be able to handle such a huge file? And finally, does Movie Maker come with the standard MS package?
Thanks, _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & T-shirts for sale!

An editing program will not read an encoded DVD and be able to bring it directly into the program, unless your DVD had the "files" saved as video files, WMV, FLV, quicktime. DVD's are usually just encoded for playback in a DVD machine, even if your computer has a DVD player you can not pull usable encoded files off to edit them?
The only way to get a DVD to work in an editing program is to hook up a DVD player and encoded this video into the program, just like it was a video tape deck. That way it is in the proper file for what ever editing program you are using.
As for if your computer will hold such a large file, it's really dependant on your hard drive. I have 2 500gb hard drives on my Mac and it will hold about 15 hours or more of video for each drive.
I'm not sure if Movie Maker comes on most computers but I believe it is part of the newer packages. |
