Yep, that's it!... my memory was a little fuzzy. Have any newer info on it than than me? Is it fixed up?
Edit: I just emailed the owner I knew, to get his story. I'll post whatever I find out to here. I'll check & see if my old high school auto shop teacher knows where it came from.... he's still alive.
Speaking of auto shop... and photography... and leather shop... and plastics... and wood shop... and ceramics... and graphic arts... and metal shop... WTF happened to our education system & gutting vocational courses? F-ing politicians and budget cuts. I probably used to think I was bored as a kid... but where the hell are kids supposed to get interested in anything these days?... or pick up a trade? We're in a sad state of affairs (in CA anyways). |

I know it is so sad, they took away the auto shop, wood shop, and metal shop at the high school I graduated from here in San Jose, California. Luckily, the middle school I teach at still has an industrial arts program (drafting/wood shop). There are only two high schools and the one middle school in our district with such programs. I'm fortunate enough to teach the program at my school. You are 100% correct, the students are engaged and yearning for such courses. It's exciting to work with them and watch them come alive and engaged in the content. |

Donny's dad bought that Binz. It sat outside his house on Maple street for many years. I played middle man on the sale to Derek. Looking back, I should have bought it. |

The "Swedish build Binz" is rescued a couple of years ago and is slowly repaired. it is mentioned on side 21 and forward in this tread.
At the moment in a tread on boxerville.se, may come up here on thesamba.com...

There was some trembling in the Binz/time continuum last summer, but I never felt any aftershocks. Surprised it did not hit these papers. _________________ nothing |

how people keep it from being a sidewinder after it's finished without a frame jig is impressive |

I have seen photos of them built on a shop-built frame jig like an old street rod would be done. _________________ nothing |

The body off approach is what I've been contemplating for mine. Just a little daunting and before I go cutting things apart I want to make sure it will go back together right. I'm always amazed at how much buses flex when you cut certain parts out. I can't imagine the body not acting like Jell-O with the whole floor cut out. Hope to find a way to do it and have it go back together right. _________________ Richard

Me too. Seems all parties are maintaining radio silence. |
The Michigan one??? I'm surprised also if it is that one _________________ 1960 W/T Kombi

Minnesota? Or did you mean to say Michigan? Were there two rumblings?
Also, why the silence? Let's see pictures and hear stories! _________________ nothing |

Wow, so there were two recent Binz finds.
I understand the want for privacy, but at least make sure the registry is updated with info. Please? _________________ nothing |
