I was going to ask you guys if what year vert top frames are interchangeable.
I just picked up a rough 57 today but the top is missing. There is a 62 on site with a top and wondering if theres a difference? |

|
|
Hi Guys,
I have a question about the rear seats for my 1956 convertible. Unfortunately, my car didn't have the rear seats when I first got it and I have been looking for a set for a while now. Does anybody know some of the differences that could help me identifying if the seats are the correct one for a 56? How are the seats year categorized (1956- 1957 and 1958-1964)? I apologize in advance if someone else has asked the same question. I also wanted to thank you guys for all of the help and good information that this thread has provided me throughout the restoration process of my car. |

Hi
Does anyone know if there are any differences between a 56 and 59 RHD cabrio loom? A wiring specialist over here has the info to make a 59 loom with semaphores, but not a 56. I can't think there would be any major differences, the lights and semaphores will be the same, should all be screw terminals. The only things I can think of are switches and maybe dome light. |

HELP!
A buddy is fabricating a new metal base plate under the dome light bulbholder for my '57 Kabriolett. He also has the old used wood section that the bulbholder assembly attaches to. Part of one end of the wood is missing. I suspect that he is also reproducing the wood section too. My buddy just texted me to ask if I knew the center-to-center measurement of the holes drilled through the wood used to attach the wood section to the metal roof bow. He suggested checking the holes on the metal roof bow.
Does anyone out there have a similar frame easily accessible where you could take the center-to-center measurement of the holes in a metal roof bow? or maybe even a complete wood piece with that measurement? It'll take a day or two to get to mine tucked away in storage. Thanks for any help getting that measurement for us!

Here is BulliBill's dome light wood backer and the dimension I need. Also assuming the missing part of the wood should have a lug identical to the other side?

Do you need the screw hole distance? I just removed mine and can measure. |

Anyone use a WW top chrome strips. I see Chucks and WW both have them. One is $70 cheaper and both say they are like original. I don't mind spending more if one is more correct. |

Thanks, yes, if you can send the measurement between the center of the mount screw holes that might help. A few of us are starting to wonder if these were just arbitrarily screwed on while on the factory assembly line, and that there may be slight differences in each installation. Yes, if it's easy for you to get to, please measure and post your result here, maybe even a photo or two. I dug my two roof frames out from below a mountain of stuff in the basement, but mine are just frames, no wood bows or much upholstery attached. Thanks!

I ordered up Chuck's full set for my '57 Kab, but they are not installed, nor will they be for quite a while. They look beautiful though!

182mm
You can see how it is crudely cut out of wood and a router used to clean the edge up.

When they shipped the trim is it straight and are they shipped together? Wondered how they don't rub each other. |
