Does anyone have a close up of the trim, maybe the ends? |

Holy Crap! It's been quiet on here. Are none of you Kabriolett owners driving or doing anything to your babies? Let's see some more action on here!
I just ordered/purchased a rebuilt axle to axle split-case transaxle for my Dec 1956 ('57 model) Kabriolett from Wright Gearbox to be pallet-shipped to my door... that's something anyway!

I've been driving my '56, even though it's the middle of winter here [Australia].
A real pleasure to drive, with the 356 engine and 356 drum brakes.

I don't have access to Progressive Refinements and I was wondering if someone could confirm the Chassis number when the dash grab handle was introduced as a standard feature on Oval verts. I've just seen pictures of a restored Zwitter vert that doesn't have a dash grab handle and I was wondering if early Oval verts came with them as a standard item. Many thanks! |

Been trying to get mine road worthy again. Can't belive I haven't driven it since around 1995. Patching holes in the firewall, replaced the rails, and patching rust. If I ever do rails again I'll rent or buy a spot welder. Theres like 200 welds per rail. I've been grinding forever, spot welder would of saved lots of time. Original Inca red paint on firewall. Good thing about verts are the nasty welds all over. I can duplicate those easy. Anyone know if the hole on the passenger side, by cylinder one is supposed to be there? I don't remember if a wire goes there. It looks like two holes drilled together so I'm leaning towards not supposed to be there. Very bottom of second picture.

Jason if your asking about the two small holes in your pic my 56 doesn't have them. Mine doesn't have the metal tabs for the loom going to the starter either

I was wondering about the one on the very bottom. It is on the flat. The one that holds the seal on the side by the heads. Looks almost like the drain hole on a 58. |

Yes that one. I just remembered that I had a motometer 3 in 1 gauge. I think they ran the ammeter power lines there. I'll run the wires with the loom. |

I bought my US spec from wiring works. He is a cool guy and I'm pretty sure he has or can make it. Most vendors sell his. He is in San Pedro. Prices are better through him. I think it was under $200.

Thanks. Spoke with Bob. He normally doesn't stock this wire harness, that's why no one has one listed including Wolfsburg West. Good news is that he is willing to do one for me. Bad news is it's going to cost me $490. Oh well, I need one _________________ 1947 Typ 11a

Hoping you guys can help me ID this Vert passenger side visor, Its has a brown tint to it, its quite hazy. One thing that seems odd to me is the ribbed edge its a bit faint (more so in the middle) as if its flattened out over time? also notice the contours on the end aren't so smooth. Interested in your feedback

I bought this for my Kab...
Just arrived yesterday from Wright Gearbox for future use in my Jan of 1957 Deluxe Beetle Kabriolett project. I can pull the unknown condition original transaxle out of the Kab and stuff in a known refreshed/rebuilt unit.
Woooo Hoooo! The refreshed Okrasa motor will now have something nice to snuggle up to.

Been working on my rails and other rusted areas. I cut them off back in the early 90's. They were rusted and body was sagging. I used a set of J3 restoration rails, nice and a set of Gerson lower rocker plates. First time body has been bolted back and under its own weight in a long time. My plan is to get it running and fitted, then tackle body and paint. Super excited it's starting to look like a car again.
