HI there,
I am new to the site and wanted to share what I think is some good info
I came up with some code descriptions that I have not seen posted so thought I should send them to someone who would know what to do with them
I recently bought my 1968 type 2 double cab transporter and love it ....now I love it even more because I know it's history
If you can help me de-code more I would be grateful

the codes are a bit tricky but I figured out some interesting stuff
426: Specifications for the USA M020, M047, M102, sealed beem headlamps... (?)
507: Vent wings in cab doors
791: Prepared for the installation of UTILA-ambulance (Only for the German state of Bavaria)
217: Attachment for ladder
521: With additional chrome trim and sun vizor with mirror [F -- 219 300 000] / Without sun vizor with mirror [F 210 2000 001 -- 213 2300 000]
751: 2 pillows, 1 back rest, 1 belly rest, safety catch on table, without infusion hooks (ambulance)

As you can see it was originally built as an ambulance !! VERY COOL pillows, back rests, belly rest, table .......I wonder if it was ever used as an ambulance ??? Sort of interesting that it has a "medical" history .....just like me !! Also able to determine important things like original paint color and interior .....Pearl white ,,,,L87 is the paint code, Interior = beige and interior material = leatherette. Production date was August 24th 1967 and it was exported to Frankfurt am Main ...........I am going to keep researching !!

This is my brother in laws newly found bus on the property he just bought in south texas. he knows that the previous owner used to work for a government agency that I think used to be "border patrol". the really odd thing about this bus is that the passenger area is completely "caged in", all the windows and a homemade cage to separate the driver area to passenger area with locks. all the doors are locked with padlocks from the outside of the vehicle along with the back hatch and the engine hatch also locked with padlocks. last registered in mexico "1989"

anyone have any comments or knowledge...????
