Pulled the batteries from Sophy and from Jill's Type 34 and got them both on the float chargers for the winter.

I also dug out a bunch of cooling tin and parts to send out to Brian Fye for his engine build.

Took Red for a drive - new carbs, re-jetted to match the big engine-it just flys!

Today my lovely wife got to drive "Gertie", the Squareback that we purchased, for the first time.
She is used to a Honda fit, but strip away the luxurious interior, the radiator, the horsepower, the newest gadgets, the sound system, and a smooth ride, and essentially it is the same thing!
So today.. WE DROVE HER!!

Then while starting to deep clean the interior, I found this..

First I would be saddened that the last oil change documentation was in 1988, but the crazy thing is, this is the current & operational odometer reading.

It appears only 1100 miles were put on her since 1988, which explains why she is still in such great condition!

Began the mock up process on my 1500 S to make sure that I have all of the correct parts/hardware before pulling it all off to make it pretty.

Next up is taking it all apart, fixing the issues and getting it painted/powder coated/plated.

Waiting with the Oregon Bus Club for the 62nd Springfield Christmas Parade to start. We each threw $20 worth of candy to all the kids! Cool

Hey, it could be worse, you could have hit your WIFE's car and put a dent in it. Shocked You'd never hear the end of that one. Laughing

It's like I told my son a couple of months ago, you hitting something parked in the driveway wasn't the 1st time, and it won't be the last time something got hit in the driveway. About 5 different vehicles have been "bumped" in the driveway since I've living here (almost 27 yrs), and ALL of them have been hit at night (no yard light out there). Shocked

Time to buy a yard light Bob.

But you are right about driveway accidents. I backed out of the garage and took my mirror off my Mazda MX6 by hitting my wife's open driver door. Two cars at once, efficient!

Our son backed into a light pole at Best Buy with my square! It cost him $330 to have my bumper & overiders straightened out & re-chromed. Twisted Evil

That's the same thing my wife said...I told her I wouldn't have minded if it was her car, since insurance would have paid to fix that... Smile

The problem I have is that there's nobody around here who will do paint jobs and small body repairs like this. All the shops are insurance-only places, and they won't even talk about fixing something like this. It's not the first time I've experienced it, but it's still aggravating.

They will, but they have a big backlog right now (including a certain Sea Blue N model Notchback), and this is my daily driver...I was hoping for something a little closer to home so it wouldn't be out of commission so long. I'm still looking around though.

Nah, don't want the "criminals" to be able to see what they're stealing. Shocked A friend of mines dad lost an outdrive for his boat that was parked under 1 of those bright lights. They had all the light they needed to see what they were doing.
Around here, you just need to pay attention to what's in the driveway, and where it's parked. But, sometimes the drunks just can't see that well in the dark. Wink

So how bad is it really? Got any pics? Basically you look for the point that's holding all the metal in, and then you reverse the impact. Wink
I guess that's part of the reason I do my own body work. Well that, and I can't afford to pay someone to do it. Rolling Eyes
