I just have cotton rag padding under my carpets, so the moisture will evaporate. Moisture will get trapped under anything else & I still have a couple leaks in my square!

Reluctantly, I sold my Type 3. Just 1 day before it w as due to be delivered to the shipper here in Bangkok, I got an inquiry, named a price (I thought would be enough to not sell) and it was accepted.

Transaction is completed, money already wired back to the U.S. and I'll be ready and looking later this month for my next one as soon as I get back.

Found the heim joint kit for the dual dellortos. Ordered vinyl to redo my upholstery and am very excited to continue on the process. Smile

Im using this:

http://www.rockler.com/goof-off-ultimate-remover

It smells like acetone but works much, much better than soaking acetone into a rag. I did almost the entire underdash area today but it took almost the entire can. Im going to pick up another one to do the heater channels and rear seat area.

Removed the front drivers fender to get the historic dent sympathetically pushed out.

After removing the bumper, I rested it up out of the way and noticed a rusty little box tucked right up by the impact support tube.

Most people remove the charcoal canisters. The are all plugged up/non-functional & promote rust there.

Hi Mike,

Quite lucky as there was just a load of dry Cali dirt and some stones, So cleaned them out. If I had left them that would be a rust issue in no time in the UK.

I am going to remove and clean up the area then waxoil.

Took it for a drive on Saturday- it was running so great, then the engine got hot, or bad gas, or maybe I need to re-jet?? I don't know. Started hesitating at freeway speeds. Then after a beer at the Old Cayucos Saloon to let it cool down, it was still running funky. Pulled over, pulled the aircleaner, everything looked fine, gas in the fuel filter as it should be. Then it was idling perfect again, took off for home. Ran OK most of the way, except one hesitation at slower speeds. Got home ok- that's about 6 miles. I shot the valve covers with the laser heater. They were at 225 degrees. Shot my friend that I was cruising with's 356 in the same location and he was at 190 degrees.Too hot?

Air cleaner wing nuts too tight on twin carb engines will cause these issues. There were service bulletins about this. With the rubber O ring present under the snouts they should be just snug and no more.
