I got into my dash electrical. Reworked the head light switch so that headlights don't come on with the parking lights. PO had it with two to one jumper to the parking lights. Not sure why, maybe to turn on lights with out having ignition on. But I got my parking lights dash indicator to work and turn green and got my high beam indicator to turn blue. Felt like Christmas.
I think I found why my clock was working intermittently. I think a loose power wire only time will tell on that one. Ended up with a ground wire leading from the clock to no where. Looks like it used to attached somewhere but cant find a missing spot and its not color coded. I am sure that will come back at some point. |

Drove it for the first time in a while, but in the last month -
Installed electric fuel pump, took the carbs apart cleaning the dirt out after the fuel pump pushed all the grime from the front of the car to them. After that balanced them and they are running sweet. Installed electric points, installed a hard start relay, and full tune up. - and it as never run so well! _________________ Tom Reay

Not for my 67, but...
Last week I took some time off and a buddy and I went to a yard and picked up this old-timer I had pulled some pieces off of to put my 67 together.
We got her home and I started to carve it up the next day. Poor thing had been sitting the ground without wheels so the entire underside was done. Being I was on limited time, I tore into this car in three days and was able to salvage some pieces from it. This square was roached and the goodies long gone...
Another buddy was looking for a rear transaxle setup like this one and so a deal was struck. The bumpers may be spoken for next week as local guy has been bitten by the VW virus and is looking for a set.
I saved the rear hatch section for a future project. The rear cargo area is in great condition so I'll be separating it.
Once that's out, Will be carving excess pieces off of it to lighten the overall piece. And yes, we did get some snow. Temps got down to 17 on my while pulling this thing apart. I had to make it happen as I didn't want the city to come down on me. It'll be gone my Monday afternoon. Funniest part were my neighbors as they kept staring while driving by and seeing the car disappear each day. Will post my final pic of the remains in the AM. _________________ MonT3

How's the rear kick panel? I'm working with a supplier to stamp the rear seat kick panel (and hinge stands) but I need a cleaner kick panel. If it's even 'decent', I'd be interested in it. |
