Deffo RHD as the plates are Jersey registered. Not East Coast USA, but a small Island off the South Coast of England or just off the North Coast of France, depending how you look at it! _________________ 1962 Gulf Blue Patina Deluxe Beetle

I wasn't sure how models go down here but this is one I just finished. I took a lot of the inspiration from this thread in fact! |

Other clues are the other cars in the photo. Not sure maybe a MG Magnette or maybe Riley?
Poster's address is a clue, too, Jersey, C.I, would be CHANNEL ISLANDS.
About as many cars as Catalina Island, CA, I'd guess. (Which, btw had a very nice DC back in the 80's)
So yes, RHD double cab had a back seat door on the LEFT (OFFSIDE) of the vehicle.

Yes the photo was taken at St Ouens bay Jersey Channel Islands . It is a fantastic surf beach especially in the winter months , I scanned the pic from a book about the local surf scene through the years and the guys on the roof of the DC where apparently watching a surf comp . The area is unchanged so I might try and recreate the photo for fun when my DC is finished! More pics with this link https://www.facebook.com/CLASSICMOTORWORKS?hc_location=timeline |

Looks like a reconfigured 23 going by the back seat luggage bar. Doesn't look lik eit started out as a HASEWAGA. Maybe a REVELL reissue? _________________ "My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife will sell all my parts for what I told her I paid for them"-Jon

Cool bus reggaeman.
If i understand correctly, this was the one model that wasnt produced in Brasil (but it was many years later available as a bay window model).
I read that there are only 3 Split DC´s in Brasil so it looks like your one of the three!!!
Parabens cara.

Were bay window pickups (or any VW pickups) ever produced anywhere but in Germany, aside from TKD kits? _________________ John

Unfortunately no, just a photo I saw the user Pogel post in the Gallery.
He typically grabs all the photos off eBay but I couldn't find it there. _________________ How to Post Photos

Did some VWs come with just White ribbed bumpers and not Two-Toned like most of the ones you see today?? Maybe a Commercial vs Standard, Deluxe thing? |

Early '59 Buses, up to October, 1958 still had ribbed bumpers but the ribbed bumpers were painted solid Silver White. _________________ How to Post Photos
