PostPosted: Sun Feb 23, 2014 11:53 am    Post subject: Childs Cot Reply with quote

So I know it has been discussed a couple of times on this forum but looking back, none of the links to pictures work. Does anyone have a picture(s) of the rare and elusive childs cot? Mounting points, location and material info would be great, I can fabricate one if I had at least a picture or two to work from.

THANKS!

Here's the one in my old '75.

The wooden horizontal piece is held up by two metal pieces that look like shelf standards. Attached to the inner steel frame at the beltline, I guess. Each end of the wood is cut to accept the cot frame. One side is a u-channel. The other end is more of a square notch cut out.

I never could figure out where to store the aluminum poles inside the Puck. One was just a tiny bit too long. Figured that one day, I would cut the longer pole to match the shorter and it would just fit under the rear cushion. Then the forward most notch would have to be doubled up in thickness to compensate.

Thanks so much, those pictures are great and help out A lot. I have the optional rear bumper compartment, I could probably store the cot in there.

I am restoring a 1971 Eriba Puck, it came with one shattered glass and bad seals. I found replacement sliding trailer windows that could be custom made by www.motionwindows.com quoted at $250 per window. They have an option of aluminum frame. Has anyone installed this type? Any feedback or opinions are greatly appreciated. Ross.

A big thanks to our departed friend Dave Shove from the UK. I got this canvas kit from him a few years back and finally got around to installing it. A bit of a PITA but it went OK.

I had a helluva time getting the canvas to wrap the frame, until I used some of the metal screws that hold the frame to the fiberglass top to "stake" the fabric to the frame near the "T" ends of the frame. then worked my way around with spray glue. Applied some heat to set the glue and then installed the top. I also installed a Westy poptop seal. I was never crazy about seeing the poptop sit on the fiberglass roof. Anyway, it all turned out well, and I have Dave to thank for that.

That's a great idea with the Westy seal.

I've tested it with a hose but haven't driven it in a rainstorm yet. Looks like it seals well. Regardless, it is better than no seal at all, but I did have to use a rubber mallet to drive the attachment lip on as far as it would go to allow the latches to engage inside.

PostPosted: Tue Apr 01, 2014 7:46 pm    Post subject: Red Trim Strips ?? Reply with quote

I have a 1968 Puck and am ready to replace the red trim strips that go around the top, middle, and bottom. Does anyone know where I can get these? I have gone to the Alt-Eriba web site, but it was all in German and I had no idea where to start. Are there any sources in the U.S.? Or U.K.? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Bob

I know it is a chore, but start reading backwards from this page of the thread, and I believe you will find that someone has posted information on where to get that red trim stuff (or something so close to it you can't tell the difference).

Welcome to the tiny trailer club.

Thanks for all the suggestions I've been sent. I was put in touch with trollpuck and he's been able to supply me with everything I need.
