Yea, I've found that French site info to be a bit lacking.
If you have a rounded door, then it's a 70's. The original water bottle in mine has a date stamped on it, and usually there's a metal plate on the tongue that gives the date it was manufactured. Of course those dates only refer to when the water tank and tongue were built; but should help narrow your search down.
I've read that the German Badwahlsee factory burnt down in 1968, yet the manufacturer's plate on my 1970 says Badwahlsee, not France.

Well I just checked the serial number and it's 12879. Our Pucks may have been on the same boat together.
Any who, I feel confident mine is a 1970 model year based on everything I've seen on the Puck and been able to gather on the web.
Because the DMV title has no year first sold, I'm running with that it's a 1969 based on the dates I've found physically on her; but mainly because it sounds cooler.
Peace,
Greg |

We just picked up our puck in Portland, OR a couple weeks ago, and had a great time camping at the stops we made on the way home to Los Angeles, CA. Then the next week we took it out for a camping trip in Arizona and got ourselves on a bit of a rough dirt road. Now, the original side windows had been replaced, and when we got it there were louvered windows on the sides. Well, the washboard road was a little too shaky and the glass louvers all fell out! Well, we still had a good time camping, but we had to duct tape cardboard in where the glass fell out to make it home. Now we have taken out one of the louvered window frames and we are looking to replace the windows and frames. I'll try to post some photos. Can you help us find a source for windows with frames or someone who can help us with the window replacement?
Thanks for your help!

Welcome Mary/Russell!
Seems to be a few of us Puck Newbies as of late. Cant really help about your window situation. Seems to be a custom repair job. Trying to learn as I go myself.
Eriba Puck; Keeping camping real since 1958...

I was looking for some storage ideas and ran across this puk. Its the puk I purchased in 2010. I paid $6000.00 for it. It is in perfect shape and I love it.
I am taking my granddaughter across the US in it this summer in it. We will do all of I-90 and come back some other route stopping at all the attractions. It will take us about a month. Is there a puk club or something that meets for camping trips? I think it would be fun to do that. |

Not aware of a Puck/Eriba specific club here in the States. Seems the VW community has the only consistent following of these little beauties.
You may try a "Tiny Trailer club" of some sort. Some deal with fiberglass only, others are tear drop oriented. I doubt if either would turn you away.
Share pictures with us when you get back having fun with your granddaughter! |

I recently tracked down and bought a 1979 Eriba Puck after looking for one for five years.
And then two days later saw this 1978 Eriba Triton for sale so I just had to buy it too:

Awesome pics Jack!
Again I'm led to believe that if the vehicle can get there, the Eriba has no problem following; regardless of the terrain.
Is there one, (Puck/Triton) you prefer over the other? I didn't know the Triton was imported back when; or was it privately brought over?
Thanks for sharing.
Peace,

I think it will depend on what I'm doing, who is with me and which vehicle I'm driving on that trip.
For the Land Rover events I usually attend with a group of friends who have their own camping equipment obviously I will prefer the Puck since its smaller, lighter and easier to tow with the Defender. The D-90 is my off road recreation truck at Land Rover events around the South. Since the Puck is almost exactly the same width as the Defender and since it weighs around 800 lbs the truck hardly knows its back there.
The Triton is about a foot wider and four feet longer and weighs about 1450 lbs. Its a better choice when I want to take the wife and dog along on a camping trip to a state or national park. The LR3 is a better tow vehicle for a family camping trip as its more comfortable and holds more stuff.
Both of these trailers were privately imported - the Puck by a guy who used it to travel around Europe and liked it so much he brought it back to the US with him. The Triton was brought over by a German couple who settled in Nashville. After twenty years in the USA they wanted to return home but didn't see any benefit in shipping it back to Germany so they sold it to their neighbor who then sold it to the guy I bought it from.
Both trailers are in phenomenal shape - I got very lucky. |

More of the weight in the back of the Puck? Move a cooler or something into the foot well? _________________ Judy

Hmmm..my buggy sags maybe an inch. I've got pretty stout shocks on the rear though. I would think some adjustable air shocks so your car doesn't ride like a stagecoach when you aren't towing.... |

I finally got around to painting my Puck. Now I need the plastic trim that goes around the aluminum trim strips, as well as the rubber for the windows, door and pop top. Alt Eriba seems to not exist online anymore. Is there another source for these parts? |
