I checked the dictionary, and searched the gallery, but found neither pics nor explanation, so I'm asking y'all to educate me.
I keep hearing reference to "fat base mirror arms" and have no idea what it means. If someone could post a pic of both a "normal" and a "fat base" mirror arm, I'd sure appreciate it.

Oh ya, there was one pic in the gallery, but it doesn't really illustrate the difference, or at least I don't think it does.  |

| Does the "fatness" extend through the hinge, or is just the flange that's fat? |

I'm pretty sure that the arm itself is the same diameter, just the base is different.
And seriously, does anyone know how to get an OG arm out of a hinge without damaging the arm threads or the hinge?  _________________ Necessity is the mother of invention. |
