Independently driven supercharger, run by a chain linked auxiliary engine, in a noble attempt to reduce the horsepower robbing effect of a large blower on that hemi. They took the charger and mounted it sideways across the front of the engine, blowing in to a custom intake/valley cover. The intake screen on the front of the charger would be where the carbs would normally mount between the intake scoop and the blower. Must have been a nightmare to synchronize the starting and fuel systems. That aux engine resembles ones that I have seen on some jet skis _________________ Jack Staggs

So that hydraulic pump looking thingy just behind the pony's flywheel, is that the fuel pump? Looks like the same style of fuel lines feeding the pony carb. _________________ nothing |

James Bond might look a little silly in that car. Mickey Rooney might be a better fit.
Dennis, I can't tell which pump is which on the low blower hemi. There is one on the lower right, and one on the upper left of the car. One for fuel & one for oil of some kind.

Figured I would bring the photo over tho this page for easier reference.
Does look like two pump systems in place. Fuel and oil makes sense, but would it really need a belt driven fuel pump? _________________ nothing |

Pump on the top of the kicker motor appears to have a line going to the main engines oil pan , maybe lubing or evacuating lube from the blower mouned on it's side ,,, the lower pump is fuel and is belt driven you can see the manual cut off valve as nitro engines will diesel cuttin ign won't shut em off ,all hilborn style mechanical injection set ups use belt driven fuel pumps so the pressure and volume follow engine rpm , simple been that way since the beginning and are still that way today on fuelers and sprint cars , just my 2 cents

Wouldn't that be a little hard on things like facial hair and lung function? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

1911 Reeves Octo-Auto, built from an Overland chassis. It failed to attract buyers so Reeves created the Sexto-Auto. It didn't sell either.

I'm looking at the trailer in the back ground. It was popular and common to have open trailers that used channel for the skinny tires to sit in. But look at the pipe/tube used to triangulate things so the channel didn't bow down.
It's on the INside of the channel, so the car would have to have a lot of ground clearance to be able to clear that.
That was also a pretty popular design, but I've never seen one that high one the INside of the channels. Usually they are on the outside. _________________ Mother Nature is a Mean Evil Bitch! |
