Hi, Im tinning up a stock single port for a 68 Bus, only mod was converting to doghouse shroud and offset cooler ( all german tin )
Using a 38 amp Generator that is correct for a T2 with the correct dished backing plate pieces. With the only style of fan hub I have here when the fan is attached you can see the almost half inch gap between the fan and the backing plate. ( I belive this hub is off a regular old beetle setup )

So to the question... is there a specific fan hub for 38 amp Generators?
Thanks in advance.

here is few pictures of what im dealing with

If only it was that easy, the bus hub is drastically different, not enough meat on it to cut down. Here's a thread with pics of both hubs: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=388128

I meant cut down the long one, not the correct one he needs. I just did one and had no issue.

Cut down how?, I'm confused. The Beetle one has the flange part way up the shank, the bus one has it right at the bottom, there's not enough meat on the flange to shorten it that far. They are both the same length, it's just the location of the flange that's different.
