No deluxe trim, was this in Portugal?

Don't the seals on the skylights look as if they were added in by the owner? They look too 'puffy' or something?

Wasn't Portugal one of those countries that taxed the bejeebuz out of passenger vehicles so most were panelvans with the windows, etc. added locally afterwards?

Yes, it's true.
MAny arrived in primer, without tires, windows, batteries, electric loom, seats... all that was made in Portugal, even open the windows by the local VW employees... more local work to the country at the time...

Looks more like an amateur radio antenna since it's so tall. I have a TV antenna here at my place.

Do the outside antenna's still pick up TV signals or do you have to use a converter?

I have to say, I haven't seen an antenna on a house in decades. I remember as a kid having to go outside and twist the pole to improve the reception of the 4 channels prior to cable.

Damn, I'm sounding like one of those older people who discussed w/their kids that they had to walk 5 miles up hill, both directions to go to school.. lol

I still have an antenna on my shop roof, but it is just used for FM reception these days. But, bolted to the mast is a $40 HD antenna that gets me a dozen or so TV channels from Spokane, WA, 70 miles away.

That's awesome that you can still pick up TV channels, especially 12 of them on the new HD antennas. What would our childhood been like if us kids were not there to change the channels for our parents and adjust the antenna during football games for our fathers!

I get so sick of paying my $100 dollar cable bill each month but then again, I'm frugal. lol

It doesn't sound very frugal to me to spend $100 a month on TV. No cable, no satellite, no land line here. $40 a month for wireless internet, $10 a month for Netflix.

We have a $40 digital antenna up against the living room window that picks up about 25 channels for free. With all the gadgets available to watch movies over the internet on your TV, there's hardly a reason any more to pay for cable, unless there is some particular sports channel you want to watch. But then you are going to pay dearly for that.

I read that as he's frugal so he's pissed about paying $100/month, not that $100/month IS frugal.

LOL.. Everett nailed it. I HATE spending that much $ on cable. My sports watching needs drives it though.
