Are quality repro fenders available ? Do they exsist ?
My OG fenders can be reworked but for the money the body man wants I wonder about replacements ?
Do 1957 rear fenders have the running board bulge ?
Sorry if you have heard this before but its our 1st Oval .
Thanks
BB Cool

There were some ok reproductions made with the dimples between the holes, but seem super floppy and thin to me

I have access to a set of them if your interested...
PM me for details.

I don't recall there being a bulge where the running board meets the rear fender. There is quite a prominent one on front Oval era fenders though.

Bulge where the fronts meet the runnig boards however! Wink

Also there should be small 2" long dimples (ish) on the wing mounting flange of the rear wings! But not on the fronts! Sorry, I havent got a photo of this.

Back to the rear fenders.....will any rear fender from a 55-67 be year-appropriate for my 1957 rag as some people claim? If not, what year range rear fender should I look for ?

Depends on your definition of "appropriate".

Fit, yes. But you will need to relocate/fill taillight mounting holes possibly.

Correct, no. Taillight holes will be different (for '62 and up) and "dash" pressings between bolt holes will be missing (for '60 and up).

Mid '55 to '59 fenders should be correct.

Here are some pics of the Zito repro rear fenders with dimples.

They are SUPER thin gauge! Dimple stampings are clear at the bottom of the fender but are nearly non exsistant at the top. No holes drilled for tail light bracket only one large hole for wiring.

Soon someone will make correct early fenders and have more business and interest than anticipated. We just have to be patient. Hint, Hint, Ricardo or Gerson!!
