That band was cool RockStock.

I am about halfway through editing a video with lots of "road action" I used a suction cup mount on the split I was driving with my digital video camera.

Here's a quick teaser:

There is only 30 seconds of video, for some reason the publish feature added another 5 mins of blank space .....

On behalf of the 'Kiwi' contingent that made it to Hessisch, a huge thanks go out to the Grundmann Family and all the team that helped put together the best event ever, simply mind blowing, thank you so much.

At the dinner they mentioned that 34 countries were represented, a massive global gathering, we all met so many friends, old and new from all around the world. Apart from the bewildering collection of cars, the effort people put into attending this event was a real highlight, one that the organisers must have been very proud of.

Ok, here you go. 322Mbytes worth. I'm not totally crazy about how Youtube converted the resolution. I may try to upload another version later.

Some notes:

This is a collection of video I shot over the course of the weekend. It is NOT in chronological order. Much of it, you will see, was shot while on the road.

It was not the split I was driving that ran out of gas. I'll leave it at that.

Go ahead, count the splits as I drive down "split street" at Hessich!!

Great event, thanks to the Grundmann's, their event staff, and BBT Bob for all that he did to allow me to take part!!

Enjoy...

Yes, good job. Gives an idea what the ones missed wich where not there. There is such an overload of VWdom all around. It can hardly be shown in a movie.

Glad you liked, I sure had fun "collecting" all of the video too! Now that I have the codec issues with my PC worked out, I can make my "Ragtop Deluxe" video! The suction cup mount is a lot of fun to play with, there are some many different places you can attach it.

Its a beautiful day here to day, I think I will try to get some "sunroof" video....

Credit to Pete, he was confused about which one the "R" position was on the tap, but earlier we found that the "auf" position was clogged, and the std would only run on the R position anyway.....

Three things I learned on my drive to and from Hessisch...... (John, pay close attention to the second one and maybe the third)
1) It doesn't matter if I don't have a reserve in your tank IF there is enough fuel for the trip to begin with.
2) The engine starts quicker when the key is on BEFORE pushing the starter button. A "seasoned" veteran Wink told me so and demonstrated this as well.
3) If we have maps, learn to use them. Shocked

But what a weekend....The scenery was spectacular. The people gracious. Paul, Neil, Sue, Klaus, we can't wait to see you again either here in the U.S or on your side of "the pond"!...And a very special thanks to Bob and Linda and the BBT crew. You guys are spectacular.....and very photogenic! It'll be very hard to match the experience we all had this trip.....but come Solvang, 2010.....we'll try!

Finally got to see your video, John. It captures the essence of a great weekend with good friends and VW's. Only thing missing is the smell of those fumes coming from the empty tank. Wink
