I am just getting started restoring a '78 Westy and am looking for some info on websites that sell parts.
I have checked out:
www.gowesty.com
www.westcoastmetric.com
www.bus-boys.com
Do you know of any other good ones?
Thanks

germansupply.com
wolfsburgwest.com
busdepot.com
cip1.com _________________ 69' transporter. |

Ah, he's new, so let's be kind.
Of course the search button is there, and this is going to take a while to peruse through, so start here:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/shops/cat.php?id=1
(the parts section will destroy hours of your time)
And follow up here:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/links/
and of course, do a quick search for feedback on some of these stores.
The reputable ones actually post here (See: West Coast Metric, Ron at Bus Depot, Etc...)
Restoring a 78? I highly recommend taking crazy amounts of pictures and posting them here.
Good luck,
-Peter |

Can you edit your link for WCM. Should be 'metric' not 'metrics'. The extra 's' takes you to one of those nasty link/search farms.
Cheers,

You can try justkampers in the UK for those hard to find parts in the US... _________________ 1976 181/Thing, 1967 fastback, 1973 squareback, 1964 microbus, 1967 Double Cab, 1969 westfalia (currently under resto), 1972 LM1C dune buggy, 1974 jean's bug, 1974 1303 (super beetle, currently under reassembly after new paint). |
