I didn't know much of his work, but his Star Trek episode "The City on the Edge of Forever" was one of the very best (and for which he won a Hugo Award). |

An Apopka,Florida resident, the golden retriever that became the face of Bush’s Baked Beans commercials died last week, the company confirmed Tuesday.
His real name was Sam, and he was one of several dogs that portrayed the loyal companion in more than 20 years of Bush’s commercials.
“The relationship between Jay and his beloved dog Duke is the embodiment of the BUSH’S brand,” the company wrote in a Facebook post. “While Sam has not worked with us in years, we are saddened by the news of his passing and are grateful to have had him depict Duke.”

I grew up watching his sports segment on the Fargo evening news. He also did broadcasts for NDSU Bison football. I heard his political talk show a few times and was surprised at how far left he had gone considering his upper midwest roots. I did enjoy the show most days.

I'm going to say that natural causes means that the body just plain wore out, as opposed to a accident or disease. It happens. An autopsy may reveal what they think wore out first, but we will all get there one way or another. I encourage everyone to be prepared to face the final truth. We are all just one breath away from eternity, whoever you may be.

Quite possibly it means a shitty diet that leads to heart disease and a heart attack. That is natural. Not good, but natural. Arsenic is natural, too. So is gravity, as people fall off of tall shit all the time.
