Will do! Just as peaceful warrior and keifernet had showed us, I drilled a total of 20 holes for each window - 7 on top, 7 on bottom, and 3 for each side. Make sure you drill the holes near the edge of the lip so that they line up nicely into the small groove on the louvered windows. Took a while to get all 20 holes drilled, mainly because this wears out your drill bit like none other. _________________ 1971 Deluxe Transporter "Winston"

I just couldn't get the windows to sit in the opening until...yes,it was Chris Cybulski's article that got me to look deeper into the installation of the seal. Luckily I still had one other window to refer to how the original seal was attached.
Standing the window on it's edge I used a metal paint stir stick(thin, rounded edged). I used it to seat the rubber onto the outside edge of the window .You will feel the rubber actually push into place and stick. Then the teeny rubber edge gets pushed under the lip of the groove .You know you have it installed right when it is tight and doesn't fall out. _________________ "Always waiting for tomorrow ruined everything"

Where can one buy one? Are reproductions made?

Just a follow up to this thread: My '79 Westy has 16 screws for each window: 6 top and bottom and 2 each side.
Just Kampers in the UK had the interior seals. I just checked though and had a bad link so I don't know if they still do. _________________ Dirk

Tcash,
We were referring to the inner seal for the jalousie window, which seems to be NLA.
Unless someone starts making them......

I would recommend sticking with the plastic. It may feel cheesy and may break, but that is the best place to have a weak point in the system. If you use a metal knob, then eventually, it will chew the splines off the window, and that is not something that can be fixed. When the cheesy plastic knob gets stripped, just get another. _________________ John

This is a cross post as I didn't get an answer in my build thread.
Got all the easy windows done. Figured I'd give the jalhousie a try and can't get the seal to sit correctly on top. Is it the justkamper seal that is causing the issue? I have one new grey WW seal here and two new black just kamper seals so I figured I'd use the black ones. You can see the gap along the top of this window. All screws are in and window is seated correctly.
