The blockoff usually has a passage to pass the oil that would otherwise be going through the cooler. The cooler bypass plunger is at the rear. The filter goes before the cooler as hot oil passes more easily through it.

Yes adapter for external cooler. Curious if I need to remove plunger. I also want to make sure which hole is inlet and outlet. Two fitting plate. No plate on oil pump. Thanks for response.

so your using the adaptor for ful flow at the cooler location, not out of the oil pump. well dont remove either plunger or spring, but I would add a stifer spring to them,if the cooler bypass open your bypassing your filter&cooler(if you have them, Im assuming you do why else would you have a adaptor up there.)but you might want to think about fulflowing it the reg way out of the pump&into the gally.
