What is a good rattle can paint to use for the engine tin? And can you paint over chrome pieces?..... Do I need to use the High stuff ( vht paint) or will off the self paint be ok, like rustoleum... The vht paint come in limited colors, and the rustolium, ( I think I spelled that wrong ) has so many more colors..
Any Ideas... Thanks...... |

My 74 bug purchased as a basket case parts car missing engine, interior, many small trim pieces and left to sit for 10 years. Here it is today after a 125 mile run. I tried to make it look like a 74 engine although I left off the EGR fitting manifold runs great.

Look closer the oil breather vent is wrong as well that outlet on bottom of air cleaner should vent to the canister on pass side wheel well. I also got the dist drive gear off by a few teeth vacuum can rotated to close to fuel pump, all points off at a real car show. I'd make a bad car show judge |

Here is mine, it's a work in progress, but it's come a long way since I got the car 6 months ago.

sorry Bill, that's not very stock. I can see from here that your coil is .01 mm too low in the coil mount. 0/10

I'm surprised no one's "attacked me" for the two glaring faults. One is it has the wrong coil mount bracket. I just got an NOS one today. The other is the hose clamp on the fuel line where it transitions from the steel line to rubber. I've got the correct squeeze clamp on it now.
BTW, I'm just trying to stay ahead of your buddy, Robbie. I know he's scouring the earth for parts/items to make his Mom's vert engine annally immaculate! _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

Beautiful. Attention. To. Detail.
Nosey question: do you treat the bare metal components with anything after cleaning, like Gibbs, of just leave as is? Fuel pump, carb etc.
