|
|
Hi my friends, this bus is not mine, but i need to share it...
a guy in a brazilian VW forum found this bus, im the titles is a 1950 and have the correct 1950 identification tag.
the body is very strange, looks like a '60 body, but the guy told the chassis number pressed in the body is the same as in the tag
many of the original itens are missing...
what you have to say? |

sorry to tell, but NO 1950 bus. rather a 60-63 with a 1950 vin tag...
look closely you can see the vin plate has aftermarket pop rivets, originally these are of solid mild steel or aluminium.I can't see a single 1950 part or detail on the bus ( besides the VIN tag ) |

the windows are wrong too...
no rear window in 1950... this is not a barndoor body, just the tag and the titles...
but, is a good chance to someone that can buy a barndoor from the funky green parts from klassic fab... |

Deffinately not a 1950. From looking at all 4 doors, rear wheel wells, & side vents I would guess 1958-1960. _________________ Home of the one true split Bus Motorhome |

Is it me or just an optical illusion, but where are the front fresh air vents? The interior has the directional vent system up top, I just can't see the mesh/grill vents. Is it just the angle how the picture was taken? |

How come the body number matches the tag? Obviously not a 50 but did someone restamp the body too? |

hmmm, I thought the early barndoors had matching vin and body numbers. Not saying this is really a 50, but if the body number is legit and it matches the vin tag we've at least got a bulkhead and vin tag from something early... |

I don't know if that is 100% true but it does appear to be true for 50/51 Buses according to the limited body numbers listed on barndoor.dk _________________ How to Post Photos

Look at the front doors...They're pretty trippy looking. Hack job?
The metal above them seems messed with too. _________________ -1972 Baja Champion SE Super Beetle "Frank the Freak"
