Hi!
It is based on the brazilian Variant which has a Type 1 chassis with swing-axis in the rear (drum-brake) and disc-brake in the front. The chassis resembles pretty much a Karmann-Ghia chassis with the wider floor-sheets. I really didn't have a look at the front-axle yet. Will check out soon. I only figured out last week that you have to take out the gas-tank to adjust the steering-box... kind of strange.
The engine is a straight type 3 engine but has 1700 ccm, bigger valves and as far as I know higher compression. _________________ My Homepage:

I bought a set of original-sized tires and and took off these low-profile wheels. I compared the new look with old pictures and found out that my car must have been lowered on the front once, while the rear is still original. I think I will lower the rear just a little bit to keep the car even.

I always thought they used the type 4 engine, the extra 100 cc fooled me. Awesome looking car it's like a 412 and a 912 had a kid who went to Japan and hung out with Datsun Z's _________________ 71 Super - Backroad Thrasher
